First two pieces trimmed

Glad I watched this video before class, so I was aware it was possible to correct my cylinder that had an uneven lip.

Frances taught us a very easy trick to center our cylinder on the wheel before trimming. First, attempt to center the cylinder on the wheel by eyeballing it. Next, place the forefinger of your left hand at 12 o’clock on the top edge of the cylinder. With the wheel turning slowly, when the edge of the cylinder bumps up against the forefinger of your left hand, with the pads of all four fingers on the right hand, gently tap at 3 o’clock. Wait….tap again with the right hand when the cylinder bumps the forefinger of the left hand…wait. Repeat until it feels centered with your eyes closed.

My first two cylinders trimmed, signed, dated and numbered 🙂
